Dave McPherson Love Rats Tour

Dave McPherson Love Rats Tour
30 January 2012
The Shipping Forecast, Liverpool
Having released debut album The Hardship Diaries via a rapturously received Pledge Music campaign in March, Dave McPherson embarks on one last run of shows before his band InMe hit the road once more and will perform at Liverpool’s The Shipping Forecast on Monday, January 30th.

This year Dave has performed on a number of tours, notable with the eclectically talented Devin Townsend and Fightstar front-man Charlie Simpson, as well as numerous headline shows across the UK. Over the summer the musician also played the mighty Download Festival, Sonisphere Festival and Beautiful Days as well as smaller but equally vibrant settings such as the Y Not and Two Thousand Trees Festival.

The Hardship Diaries displays another side to McPerson’s musicality and has allowed the artist to develop his own sound. Every song on the album shows off the musician’s talent as a composer and songwriter and has received stellar reviews.

Essex-born Dave has recorded and released 7 solo EPs in addition to four “Rarities” LP’s consisting of demos and discarded solo songs as well as one live EP entitled “Live Support Machine”. He also has two other solo projects which take influences from computer games including Sonic the Hedgehog and ‘Primordial Soup’ which is song-based electronica.

Alice Gold
06 March 2012
The Shipping Forecast, Liverpool
A powerful pull of both masculine and feminine, laced together with straight out Patti Smith punk spirit and a keen pop ear, Alice Gold channels a definite pop sound but with a rock ‘n’ roll edge and is about to embark on her first tour of 2012.
To celebrate the release of her debut album Seven Rainbows Alice Gold will be performing at Liverpool’s Shipping Forecast, Manchester’s Ruby Lounge and Leeds Empire.
The album was completed in just 22 short days with the help of producer Dan Carey who has worked with some of the hottest artists of the last few years including Lily Allen, Kylie, La Roux, Franz Ferdinand and Hot Chip.
Gold by name and gold by nature, there is immense warmth in Alice’s sound and lyrics which is illustrated beautifully in her album Seven Rainbows that is made up of dense, complex atmospherics and an effortless melodic sophistication.
A deal with Fiction Records allowed Alice to put together the live band she had always dreamed of. Far from session musician blandness, the noise they make is a reflection of the records Alice admits she has always loved;
“I love artists like Led Zeppelin, Neil Young and Jefferson Airplane; classic songwriting, energetic and rough-around-the-edges. I definitely write pop songs, but I'm inspired just as much by leftfield stuff, rock and roll and psychedelia. Basically, I love Janis Joplin but I've got a crush on Alicia Keys.”
