Desperate Scousewives- The Play
04 - 08 July 2012
The Liverpool Actors Studio Theatre
‘Somewhere amongst the terraced streets of Liverpool, a far cry from the pampered luxury of Wisteria Lane – four desperate Scouswives face up to the hardships that life has thrown at them with a traditional blend of good humour and abrasive Liverpool wit. Desperate Scousewives is thought provoking, compelling, hysterically funny and highly entertaining…’ Lynne Fitzgerald
Written by Lynne Fitzgerald

The hilarious hit comedy (not to be confused with the E4 TV programme of the same name!) will return to The Actors Studio, Liverpool in July after a complete sell out two week run last year.

DESPERATE SCOUSEWIVES
This Scouse romp, written by and starring Lynne Fitzgerald follows the lives of four female neighbours in Liverpool Terrace during the lead up to a jail wedding for one of their number. With the addition of abused wives, a death in the neighbourhood and some comedy song and dance routines (lyrics by Clare Bowles John Coventry and Lynne Fitzgerald) no less – it all adds up to an unmissable piece of theatre.

Desperate Scousewives stars Lynne Fitzgerald, Clare Bowles, Phillippa Goodwin,it is Produced by Lynne Fitzgerald and Clare Bowles and Directed by Lynne Fitzgerald. Choreography by Philippa Goodwin.

Undercover Blondde
18 - 21 July 2012
The Liverpool Actors Studio Theatre
Come and see why, two liver birds fly
with their winnings they head for the sun
They escape their blondde roots
by changing their looks
so eyes down and look in for some fun
Gypsy Theatre Company presents Undercover Blondde

Undercover Blondde are a female Laurel and Hardy: two women who travel the world with their Bingo wings (Sorry, ‘wins’). They fancy themselves as a cross between Thelma and Louise and Shirley Valentine. Pam thinks she is Marilyn Monroe and Ann is a hypochondriac, and nothing goes right for them.

The show has been described as Real Liverpool humour, hysterical and has developed a bit of a following.

Some people have been back three and four times to see it.

Warning: This act could make you wet yourself

About Gypsy Theatre Company

Lesley Hughes and Veronica Kelly are two comedy actresses who have been in the business for more years than they like to admit. They have appeared in many productions in and around Liverpool. Undercover has taken them twice to the Edinburgh festival, The Brindley Theatre, Runcorn and The Lantern Theatre, Liverpool as well as many fringe venues around the city.

The girls portray these hilarious but loveable characters with polish and charm and as noted by Three Weeks review on their Edinburgh fringe performance “they have a strong hold on the infectious one liners.”

Its also been said that their show is a lesson in comic timing.

No gratuitous swearing, but lots of innuendo and ménage de trois to make up for it. (Oh sorry that should read double entendre, not Ménage de trois, there are only two of them!)

Undercover Blondde

Wednesday 18th- Saturday 21st July 7.30pm

Starring; Veronica Kelly & Lesley Hughes

Doors open at 7.00pm for a 7.30 pm start
Tickets are £10 / £8 concessions
