Hilton Liverpool - Opening Summer 2009
The world famous group has confirmed it is to open a new hotel in Liverpool, opposite the Albert Dock. The hotel will be managed by Hilton and will open in 2008, during the city's year as European Capital of Culture.
Howard Friedman, Hilton's Area President for the UK and Ireland said
"This is Hilton's first hotel in Liverpool, one of the UK's fastest-growing and dynamic cities. The signing of the agreement marks yet another significant step forward for Hilton's development throughout the UK and Ireland, and we are delighted to be part of Liverpool's exciting future."
The hotel features 216 guest rooms over eight floors, 10 Meeting rooms, a ball room, restaurant and a gym. It will be part of Liverpool One - one of the biggest mixed-use developments in Europe.
The hotel is situated on the historic site of the world's first commercial dock, adjacent to the elevated Chavasse park that overlooks the River Mersey, one of the development's five individually designed retail and leisure districts.
Liverpool Hilton has a contemporary new look and lifestyle focus, and has been designed by London-based architects, Squire & Partners, and Aedas Architects, an international firm renowned for its innovative designs. The design of the building will be a striking structure featuring glass and pre-cast masonry. The building has been inspired by the famous Royal Crescent at Bath, and because of its closeness to the World Heritage Site has been designed to ensure a stunning finish.
