Laughterhouse Comedy Christmas Variety Nights

JANUARY 2012 COMEDY UPDATE
Laughterhouse Comedy is guaranteed to brighten your January!

This January, the folk at Laughterhouse Comedy have a rib-tickling array of hilarity and comedy capers to take your mind off the colder nights. For the most depressing month of the year there is a whole host of comedians gracing two premier stages across the city, guaranteed to give you a night of fun and laughter. There are also new Gift Vouchers available, it’s the perfect time to take your loved ones to a performance making an ideal Christmas present!

Our regular MCs Neil Fitzmaurice (The Office, Phoenix Nights and Peep Show), Ste Porter, and Chris Cairns will hold the nights together with their unique style, introducing a great range of top comedians including Steve Hughes, Ivan Brackenbury, Tiffany Stevenson, Gavin Webster and many more!

Steve Hughes, Australia’s favourite heavy-metal comedian will grace the stage on Friday 13th January, bringing his own brand of no-nonsense hilarity to Liverpool. Described by The Times as; ‘Hard edge social commentary at its best.’ Hughes is always topical, provocative and straight-talking.

Ivan Brackenbury, the creation of comedian Tom Binns, will be showcasing his deliciously enjoyable style on the 13th and 14th January. He has enjoyed sell out shows at the Edinburgh Festival since 2007 and at comedy festivals and fringes throughout the world. The Guardian stated that; “Binns has his character absolutely nailed, and mines the comic seam ruthlessly to create top-quality entertainment with practically universal appeal.”

Tiffany Stevenson will bring her cheeky, no-nonsense style to the Laughterhouse on 20th and 21st January. Tiffany has been a regular presence in club and festival scene since 2005 and has recently been a finalist on ITV1’S ‘Show ME The Funny.’ Having been described as; “Poignant at times, intriguing at others, often self deprecating, always funny.” By one4review, Stevenson’s show is always a must-see.

Gavin Webster started his comedy career as half a double act, going solo in 1995. He was a regular team captain in Channel 4's Does Doug Know?, is now an established name on the circuit and has also supported Lee Evans, Jack Dee and Phill Jupitus on tour. Gavin will showcase his loud, sharp and controversial Geordie comedy on 27th and 28th January.

All this and much, much more in January’s superb comedy line up!
