The New Museum of Liverpool - Meet the Architect

22 June 2011
Art & Design Academy, 2 Duckinfield Street
3XN Principal Architect, Kim Herforth Nielsen will speak on a particular approach to architecture that emphasizes the importance of considering science and art, iconic significance and sensitivity to context. Using this framework as a backdrop, Mr. Nielsen will discuss the challenge of designing a landmark Museum while remaining sensitive to the UNESCO world heritage site. Through a visual presentation of the building and the surrounding areas, Mr. Nielsen will show how the Museum on one hand is a sculpture reflecting the historic identity of the city, and on the other hand serves as a meeting point for the history and the people of Liverpool.
Time: 18.00-19.30
