Step inside from the cold and join us in the Paul McCartney Auditorium for our 2019 Christmas Concert, with a seasonal programme of songs, carols and melodies from across the ages.

The concert will feature performances from instrumentalists, vocalists and choirs accompanied by The LIPA Big Band.

As well as featuring well-known festive favourites the concert will premiere new seasonal songs and arrangements written by our students.

LIPA 2020

Weimar: Party (And) Politics

First year Design and Technology students present an exhibition of mini-sets and installations inspired by one of the most fascinating periods of the twentieth century: Weimar Germany.

Join us in the Paul McCartney Auditorium to experience the glamour, decadence and danger of 1920’s Germany as seen through the eyes of its artists and agitators, party-goers and politicians.

The three-dimensional works on display are the result of interdisciplinary collaboration and will take inspiration from artists such as Hannah Höch, Otto Dix, Max Beckmann, Conrad Felixmüller amongst others.

Created by first-year Theatre & Performance Design and Technology students.

LIPA 2020

Inspired by Luc Besson’s film The Fifth Element, 5 is at heart a love story.

Set in the 23rd century it follows the journey of taxi driver Korben Dallas and Leeloo, the Fifth Element, as she searches for the other four elements to save the Earth from The Great Evil.

Directed by Andrew Hall, 5 will encompass a range of dance styles as well as original music.

Visiting professional choreographers who specialise in different genres will contribute to the performance. Forging all aspects of our dancers’ training as artists, these choreographers will truly reveal our final year students’ versatility.

Legally Blonde

Fashion student and popular sorority sister Elle Woods enrols at Harvard Law School in a bid to win back the boyfriend who dumped her because she wasn’t ‘serious’ enough.

Once there, she overcomes hostility and mockery from her peers and professors as she starts to realise her potential. By the second semester Elle is accepted as an intern by a top lawyer and plays a crucial role in a high-profile murder case.

Based on the 2001 comedy film, Legally Blonde is a feel-good musical and underdog story of self-discovery, self-belief and the power of self-determination.

Performed by LIPA students from all disciplines and external performers.
