Another Place” by Antony Gormley at Crosby Beach.

A full 360 degree panoramic movie showing just one of the many full size, solid Cast Iron men on Crosby Beach. There are 100 of these figures all over the beach spread 500m apart. They all look out to see and some get covered when the tide comes in. The title of this art installation is called 'Another Place'.

- Previously displayed in Cuxhaven (Germany), Stavanger (Norway), De Panne (Belgium) and finally Crosby Beach, Merseyside, England (1997).

The sculptures are made from seventeen body-casts taken from Antony's Gormley. The sculptures are all standing in a similar way, with the lungs more or less inflated and their postures carrying different degrees of tension or relaxation. The idea was to test time and tide, stillness and movement, and engage with the daily life of the beach.
